We are delighted to announce that local parkour expert Ruel DaCosta will be attending Play Day! Ruel was a finalist on the recent ITV series Ninja Warrior UK. He is also co-owner and Managing Director of the locally based Paramount Parkour Academy in Kingston. Head down to the main stage to see a demonstration of what Parkour is all about and to see the man himself!
On Wednesday 3rd August 2016 Campbell Park will host MK Playday, a free event for all families in Milton Keynes. Around 9000 people attended the event last year and we hope to see many more this year!
There will be many activities to choose from; water slides run by MK Play Association, the Sports Zone with MK Dons SET which includes many activities from football to table tennis, bug hunting with The Parks Trust, fairground rides provided by Thomas Emmett and this year we would like to introduce our new cycle and cinema zones. The stage programme, compered by MKFM is back again with some fantastic surprise openers!
The MK Play Partnership which consists of Milton Keynes Council, The Parks Trust, MK Dons SET, MK Play Association and the Pre-School Learning Alliance, would like to thank the many activity providers for supporting the event, without them the success of the event would not be possible. A big thank you also to MK Community Foundation for supporting and funding the event for a third year and to Santander for once again providing the hardworking playmakers!
The MK Play Partnership work hard each year to bring this free event for the families of Milton Keynes and each year MK Playday attracts thousands to enjoy the free activities. The MK Play Partnership are always grateful to the numerous organisations who support this event and would welcome any other organisations who would like to get involved in this successful event to get in touch by emailing the chair of the group, Emma Stace at firstname.lastname@example.org.
A new feature for this year’s Playday is our clean up competition.
Continuing with the theme of caring for our environment the Big Clean Up will aim to care for the park Playday is set in, whilst having fun at the same time.
At 3.30pm children that want to take part will be asked to gather at the stage to receive a bin bag, litter picker and disposable gloves.
The children who manage to collect the most litter will receive some exciting prizes. With prizes set to be donated by MK Dons, Gulliver’s Land and The Park’s Trust!
